for some reason, i`ve always thought that aviators look really weird on my face. as a result, i`ve never even thought about getting them. it all started a few years back when i decided to try on a pair for the first time ever. i think it was at forever 21. that pair was just not right for my (huge) face and didn`t look good on AT ALL. the lenses on those aviators were also especially droopy so i felt like they made me look really sullen. i didn`t even give them a second thought and concluded that i would never get a pair of aviators because they simply look like sh*t on me lol
fast forward to now. i just got my first pair of aviator`s from kohl`s. my mom had a 30% off purchase discount because we have a kohl`s charge card. i decided to check out sunglasses and i tried on a bunch for fun. mainly, i was looking at the same bug eyed sunglasses i`m usually into. i decided to try on some aviators and the first pair i grabbed were these.
i love these because the lenses are big, they look proportionally "right" on my face, they`re gold (!! i love gold since it brings out the warmth in my skin), and the lenses aren`t as droopy and sad looking as a lot of aviators i`ve seen.
i was between this pair and a pair of lauren conrad ones. i ended up going with these because these were simply more comfortable on. HOWEVER, these have a brown lens that isn`t very dark, which is the only con. i like really dark lenses where i can be a creeper and no one would ever know. i haven`t gotten used to the lightness of the lens yet, but i`m bound to eventually. the lauren conrad ones were a little smaller and thus a little more uncomfortable, but they had darker lenses. oh well... can`t expect everything to be perfect! i went with comfort on this one and got these :)
oh, and these are from the brand "elle" as in the magazine! i actually just subscribed to it and my first issue arrived in the mail today :P
do you own a pair of aviators?
