I`ve been absent-mindedly hunting around for wedge boots with no real intention of buying any...until I came upon this pair on http://aldoshoes.com. They are the Easker boots and are still available and on clearance for $54.99. Unfortunately, the small sizes are not available, but maybe Aldo might bring them back, seeing as how they`re selling so well, who knows? There`s a 10% off code: LUCKYU31511, valid until March 15, 2012.
Also available on http://aldoshoesale.com in more sizes, but selling for about twice the price.
I`m so glad I got these during the 50% off all boots sale. According to http://aldoshoes.com, they are ...
3.25 inches, and almost no platform, I think.
17.5 inch shaft, a little bit too high for me. It hits me right at my knee cap and can be uncomfortable at times, but I don`t care. I still love them.
14.25 inch circumference, sometimes a little tight, depending on what jeans I wear, but without pants, they`re fine. If you unzip the zipper facing the inside, it loosens up the calf area, giving you a little more room.
However, all the info on http://aldoshoesale.com has different info.
I know some people complain about the full zipper being on the outside, but I don`t find that it bothers me or takes me any longer to unzip than my other boots. They`re pretty comfortable; I think there`s a bit of cushion in the footbed and also the rubber sole helps, but scuffs super easily. I already rubbed away the bottom a little bit when I went on a short walk to the post office.
I`m pretty sure they are made of faux leather, even though the Aldo website says "Material: Leather." How vague.. -_- They really smell like leather though. If they are real leather, then $54.99 is a really great price for real leather boots.
I`ve also been absentmindedly hunting around for a pair of plain black, leather boots with an almond/round toe and regular heel. I do have a pair from Cathy Jean that I bought a long time ago. As much as I like how they look, I wish they had a thicker, sturdier heel, because the stiletto on it is not practical, unless I`m going for a sexy, streetwalker look, ha ha ha.
