I have a lot of hyperpigmentation/acne scarring on my face from throughout the years and it`s hard for me NOT to cake on my foundation. I really enjoyed the Mac Studio Fix foundation, but it made me SUPER oily and I just couldn`t take it anymore. So 6 months ago I splurged and decided to finally try Laura Mercier`s Silk Creme Foundation and I ABSOLUTELY love it to pieces!
I don`t even want to try another foundation because it`s so great. Okay, I shouldn`t say that but for now it`s my Holy Grail until something better comes along. It`s super lightweight yet covers 90% of my scars which is a huge thing for me. I used to use a lot of foundation (2 pumps) + concealer and powder...yeah I know it`s A LOT. But with this foundation I only need a small amount and it instantly makes my face brighter, even toned, and flawless. It blends GREAT! I`m in Bamboo Beige by the way (NC 35) but their selection isn`t as diverse as Mac or MUFE.
I use a flat top synthetic kabuki brush from Sigma to apply a thin layer. I`ll fix anything with a dab of concealer and a light dusting of powder. But if you want something lighter and you don`t need full coverage, her tinted moisturizer is amazing too! On days where I only want light coverage I`ll use that as well in the shade Sand or Nude.
