As you can see, as of right now my foundation collections consists of all drugstore brands. Due to my tight budget I am unable to spend $30-$40 on one product so I have hunted and searched for great drugstore alternatives and these are the ones I ended up liking. Each one is different, had a different finish and are used for different purposes but I do like each one.
1st ) LOreal Infallible Foundation. I love this foundation because it is longwearing, doesnt transfer, has great medium but buildable coverage and has great packaging with a pump. The only downfall is that I cant find my exact shade and have to mix 2 shades to get a good shade for me. Thats why I have 2 bottles. The shades I have are Soft Sable and Cocoa.
2nd) CoverGirl Clean foundation. I love that this foundation feels light and fresh on the face. It gives a nice light/medium coverage and perfect for chill days. However, this is the darkest shade they have, which is Tawny, and it is about 3 shades too light. I have to mix it with another foundation that I have. Also, it isnt longwearing, it transfers and isnt the best for oily skin.
3rd) Maybelline Fit Me foundation. I got shade 355. I love the match! It matches me very well. However, I dont use this a lot because it isnt very good for oily skin. It had a dewy/natural finish, transfers like crazy and looks really shiny after about 2-3hours on my face so I have to touch up my face powder often not to look like a grease face. It does last a good 8 hrs without any fading though.
4th) Revlon Colorstay. This is hands down my favorite foundation from the drugstore. The color matches me very well, the coverage is amazing and it lasts all day with very minimal transfer. The only problem I have with it is that when you wear it, your skin looks like your wearing foundation. It doesnt look bad but maybe a bit too perfect.
5th) LOreal HIP foundation. I actually scored this foundation from Dollar Tree for only $1.00. When I got it, I wasnt really sure how to choose a good shade so it is very dark. But I usually mix it with my Covergirl Clean foundation and get use out of it that way. It is a nice medium coverage, a natural finish, and has yellow undertones. However, it isnt longwearing. It usually starts to fade after about 6-7 hours. It also transfers terribly. I will never wear a light colored top when wearing this foundation.
6th) LOreal Bare Naturale Mineral Foundation. Ive had this for much longer than I should have. I just cant let it go because it works very nicely. I can use it as a setting powder or as a nice light coverage foundation on days I dont want to wear liquid foundation. The powder if soft and matches my skin well and lasts a good 6-8 hours without getting oily when I use a primer and setting spray with it.
7th) Finally there is my Black Radiance Mineral Powder Foundation. Both of these foundations came together in a set of 2. They have a lighter shade and a darker shade but to be honest I find that both work just fine for me. The color difference isnt very noticeable. I dont use them as foundation though, I use them as setting powder since I find that they dont give enough coverage for my problematic skin. I love how small they are though, I can easily one into my makeup bag and have it on hand. They work really well at socking up oil and leaving a nice matte finish.
So thats pretty much what I have been using lately. Anyone tried these foundations?? I know the Colorstay is popular, has anyone tried any of the others?? Thoughts/ Opinions?
