This past weekend, I wrapped and decorated presents to put under my tree! My Mom has always loved wrapping presents super early and putting them under the tree as early as possible rather than waiting for the night before Christmas. I can`t argue with her - I love the look of presents under the tree!
The tree itself is fake (we`ve always had fake trees - easier to deal with, lol) but it`s lit with white lights and decorated with authentic vintage ornaments from when my Mom was young. Our family has taken such great care of ornaments over the years, it`s nice to have some from the 60`s still hanging around! They`re just absolutely gorgeous. Of course, we also have much newer ones on the tree, too. But something about the old ones makes it feel special :)
The tree is topped with a large star (`North Star` style) and it has a beautiful white with gold embroidery skirt on the bottom (can`t see much of it now, though, with the gifts!). We really do like to make the gifts part of the overall `look` of the tree, so my Mom always tried to arrange them and decorate them with bows and ribbons specially.
This is the first year having a tree in a place other than our house back in Pennsylvania, but I think we`re making do just fine haha. I do miss having an archway of garland and lights behind it like we used to do, but who knows what new decorating traditions may come about this year!
How do you decorate your tree for Christmas?
