It was my birthday two weeks ago and my boyfriend told me he wanted to make me dinner. Dinner was delicious and consisted of bacon wrapped filet mignon, baked red potato, brussel sprouts, lemon broccoli and a fruit topped bavarian tart. He asked me if I had any requests and I told him my one request was that he make me his amazing lemon broccoli that I absolutely LOVE! It`s one of the first side dishes he ever made for dinner for us when we first started dating and I have loved that broccoli ever since (I loved him before the broccoli tasting BTW haha). He asked me if I`d want bacon wrapped filet mignon and I agreed since we hadn`t had that in a while. We tend to always do baked potato when we have filet, but we opted for red baked potato this time and of course, our staple brussel sprouts since we both equally love them. I did not want a birthday cake so I requested a fruit tart and a fruit tart was what I got -- equipped with birthday candles. Overall dinner and dessert was delicious and I enjoyed my birthday even though the beginning of it was less than stellar. I drove to work (late mind you due to plumbing issues from the day before) and upon arriving the alternator belt on my car snapped. A quick talk with HR and I was advised I could leave for the day -- off to the mechanic I went where my car died the moment I pulled into the parking lot. Nearly 2 1/2 hours and $160 later I was able to go home and enjoy my b-day :). But all that aside I did have a very nice, low-key birthday.
Do you like dinners in or out for your birthday?
