Take that THE STAR!
So yesterday, for those of you who were familiar with my post, I was ranting about how a journalist for The Toronto Star was wrongfully claiming that bibimbap, a very healthy Korean dish, was over 1000 calories.
This was what I had for dinner at a traditional family owned Korean restaurant, bibimbap.
And how many calories was it?
1/2 cup brown rice (I only eat 1/2) - 110 calories
Sunny side up egg on top - 90 calories
Grilled assorted vegetables (2 cups) - 150 calories
Beef (about 25 g) - 100 calories
I`m pretty sure most of the vegetables they gave me weren`t even grilled as it was picked radishes, fresh cucumbers and red lettuce so I know I`m overstating the vegetables.
But anyways, most Korean restaurants only give you 1 cup of rice, not 3. If you are like me and only eat 1/2 the cup, it`s just 110 calories.
As you can see, there was no japchae in the bibimbap!
What do you guys think of my dinner?
Healthy or not?
