I did the ApHogee 2 Step Protein Treatment I usually do about 1 week prior to or after my chemical relaxer service. I do this treatment because it is a hardcore protein treatment that really strengthens the hair and either prepares it for the harsh chemicals or repairs it after. I usually do it after but since I havent gotten a relaxer in over 9 months and I havent done a protein treatment either I decided to do one before my service this time to make sure my hair is ready for it.
To do the treatment you will need:
*The Protein Pack (sold in packs, 4 oz bottles, or 12 oz bottles at beauty supply stores such as Sallys or online)
*The Balancing Remoisturizer (Sold along with the protein pack, or in a 4 or 12 oz bottle)
*A wide tooth comb
*A hooded dryer or a hand held blow dryer
*An empty spray bottle
What you do:
Wash your hair with shampoo and towel dry it. Pour the protein pack into the spray bottle and shake it well. Spray the protein mixture into your damp hair thoroughly saturating the hair. Make sure all hair is saturated. Clip the hair up or pile the hair on top of your head and either sit under a warm dryer or blow dry the hair with a hand held blow dryer until the hair is completely hard and dry. DO NOT MANIPULATE THE HAIR WHILE ITS IS DRYING AND AFTER IT IS DRY AND HARD, THE HAIR WILL BREAK! Once the hair is completely dried, rinse the protein out thoroughly with warm running water without manipulating the hair. Once all the protein is out, towel dry the hair and apply the balancing remoisturizer. Allow the balancing remoisturizer to sit in the hair for at least 5 minutes and then rinse. I then follow it up with a moisturizing deep conditioner that I allow to sit in for at least 30 minutes to thoroughly remoisturize my hair. Rinse it and Im done! The whole process takes about an hour but is a lot more affordable than getting a similar salon treatment. I love this treatment and will continue to do it at least every 2-3 months.
Hope you all enjoyed my little tutorial.
Have any of you done this treatment before?
