There are many uses for shower masks. When I don`t plan on washing my hair, I wear a shower cap in the shower. This is because the moisturize in the shower makes my hair feel greasy afterwards. I also use a shower cap when I do wash my hair. I`ll run the conditioner through my hair, and cover it with a shower cap for 2-3 minutes. The last use is for hair masks, I`ll put the hair mask in, tuck my hair in the shower cap, and leave it on either overnight or for however long the directions say.
Another use is for leave-in hair curlers. Sometimes they wobble around, so to keep them all tucked and in place, I`ll put a shower cap over my curlers. Of course, you can`t do this for the heated curlers!
Conair Shower Caps are the best drugstore ones. I`ve owned Hello Kitty and Tokidoki shower caps that cost me a lot more. Even those felt more sturdy, the band was terrible, and would loosen over time. They were more expensive, and I expected them to last longer, but they didn`t. The elastic band on the Conair Shower Cap is really tight and holds up very well. You still need to replace these every 3-4 months, but for $3, that`s not too bad!
