Last night, Lifetime Television network honoured Whitney Houston by showing The Bodyguard. This movie was released in 1992 and it is a very popular movie that solidified her career.
I was just 5 years old.
I remembered watching it when I was little in the early 90`s but I never watched it as an adult.
I tuned in last night to watch this classic and I really enjoyed it. I remembered this was the movie that made me like kevin costner as I was already a huge Whitney fan.
Kevin Costner acted as Frank Farmer (the bodyguard) whose job is to protect Whitney Houston (Rachel Marron) a famous and successful singer/actress. She had been receiving vicious death threats and Farmer is slightly obsessed in protecting her.
Of course it is a love story and the both fall for each other. I think there was a nice chemistry between the onscreen couple. It was believable.
Things get pretty close to home when Rachel`s sister is killed by the unknown assailant. In the end, he saves her from the killer, taking a bullet himself.
One of my fave lines in the movie was:
Woman: I have been watching you from the corner of the room all night.
Kevin costner(bodyguard): Well why don`t you go back there and keep watching!
haha I found that funny lol.
The famous song "I will Always Love You" definitely made this movie and I get all teary whenever I hear it now, since Whitney`s gone.
Did you see this movie? Did you enjoy it?
