Ever wish for that fluffy, teddy bear that you got for Christmas to come alive and stay with you forever? "Ted" the movie tells a story of a young boy who had such a wish come true. With qualities and themes arguably similar to that of the cartoon show "Family Guy", Charlie [played by Mark Walhberg] grows up and shares his apartment along with his fluffy, best friend Ted [voiced by Seth MacFarlane] and his girlfriend of four years played by Mila Kunis. Looking pretty much like a "Family Guy" ensemble, Charlie is faced with the decision of telling his best friend, Ted, to move out so he and his girlfriend can continue to the next stage of their lives.
Who could say "No" to a snuggly little, foul-mouth teddy bear? The movie "Ted" gives a glimpse of what life would be like if your teddy bear did come to life and stuck around through all the achievements and challenges. Viewers may argue that the story is a motion-picture version of "Family Guy" and it`s hard not to disagree with those sentiments. In fact, who cares? Those moviegoers expecting something spectacularly marvelous are really missing out on a funny movie. Will it win an Oscar? Absolutely not. Will you laugh? Most definitely. Put aside Seth MacFarlane`s comedic material, Mark Walhberg and Mila Kunis actually work well to bring together their individual comedic styles. It would be fair to say that Mark and Mila were perfect for their roles.
Would I pay to watch it again? Probably not. Did I get my money`s worth? Definitely.
If you had a teddy bear come to life, would you want him/her to stick around?
