Hey everyone! I`m going to do a few movie reviews. (Both new movies and old movies) So I`m just gonna get right into this;
1. Oz The Great and Powerful. (PG)
Director: Sam Raimi
Rough Summary: Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz. At first he thinks he`s hit the jackpot-fame and fortune are his for the taking. That all changes, however, when he meets three witches, Theodora , Evanora, and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone`s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity-and even a bit of wizardry-Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
Review- it`s more like the before of the Wizard of Oz, because there is no Dorthy, or tin-man etc, etc. I seen this with a few of my friends (Hiya Girls!) I would Really recommend this.
2. Beautiful Creatures (Not sure on age ?PG-13?)
Director: Richard LaGravenese
Runtime: 124 min approx.
Rough summary: There`s a mysterious new girl, there`s light vs. dark and in the end there`s a death.
Review - If you read the novel their is a good chance you won`t like the movie. In Hollywood when they say "based on a movie." That does not imply that they followed the book. In fact often times for movie play time reasons, as well as other reasons, they will base a movie on the idea from the book and use some of those ideas, but not follow it. Though in all fairness this movie was fantastic and well written. The story was intriguing and kept me wanting more. As I said if you go or went thinking it would be like the novel, one could assume you don`t see many movies based on novels.
Director: Mark Waters
Runtime: 97 mins approx.
Rough Summary: An overworked mother and her daughter do not get along. When they switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the others life for one freaky Friday.
Review- Great movie! (Though only got to watch first 30mins of it so if any of you guys/girls want to tell me what`s it about below in comments - that would be fantastic! ) So far it`s great - Hilarious at parts!! (Some of their facial expressions!)
