Do you guys remember back in the days when MAC products, especially their eyeshadows were a big hit!? Almost every beauty guru did hauls on what they purchased from MAC. Those were the good old days. But ever since then we`ve all ventured out to other brands which is not a bad idea. But I still come back to MAC and buy some of their eyeshadows once in a while, especially their blushes.
Now of course I know I don`t need anymore makeup... Lol I bet there`s plenty of people in the same boat as me but the colors are so pretty we just can`t help ourselves. Trust me, I have a list of MAC products I would like to add to my collection.
I`ve been receiving emails from MAC offering free 2 day shipping and of course I took advantage of that offer. And did you know that MAC now offers a free sample with any online purchase! You get to choose between a mascara sample and mini strobe cream sample. I wish they would offer more sample varieties but this is better than before when they didn`t offer samples. And now besides the occasional free 2 day shopping, they also offer free standard shipping on any online order! That`s a huge plus for us that hates to pay for shipping. Come on, I`d rather use the money to buy another product I so desire.
Ok enough with the rambling, let me share with you what I`ve purchased.
I bought a eyeshadow refill pan called Plumage. It`s a really gorgeous matte dark teal blue. I watched a video on YouTube and fell in love with the color that I had to go get it. What the girl did was pair Plumage with Naked and Buck from the naked original palette and I followed her steps and the look came out gorgeous. So it`s plumage on the lid and naked and bust on the crease. It turned out to be a gorgeous teal smokey eye. I`ve worn it during the day and night. The only con with this formula is that it`s kind of dry so there for takes a bit longer to blend. But the color is gorgeous enough for me not to care , until I find a similar color that blends better.
The next item I picked up is a blush refill pan in the color Peaches. It`s a sheer tone formula in which you can build up. It`s a lovely peach blush. Simple as that. Goes great with my medium olive yellow skin tone. Blends really easily and goes with a lot of looks.
The sample I picked with my order is the Strobe cream. I`ve heard lots of great stuff about this cream and I wanted to try it myself. Heard that it gives you a fresh dewey look. Tried it and so far I don`t see it being dewey like others have said. I might just have to play with it a bit more before I make my final decision so I won`t be purchasing the full size soon.
But both products I purchased were in pan form but they also sell them in compact form too. The only difference is price. Buying pan form is cheaper than the compacts. Since I already have one of their refill case, I decided to go with the refill pans. It saves me money and room in my vanity. Trust me, you don`t want a cluttered vanity... Lol
So have any of you taken advantage of their free shipping lately? I think MAC is stepping up their game since there`s so much competition in this brutal beauty industry these days.
