I mentioned recently in a post that I had discovered that Loblaws carries Milani products. When within a week, I happened to visit a Rexall drugstore, which I don`t do often since there aren`t any close to me, and I discovered that they had Milani products too!
Unfortunately, the girl at the counter told me that they were the only location with an expanded Beauty Section, so other locations may not have it.
Milani is very common in the US, but here in Canada, it`s not something you will find in a typical drugstore.
I don`t remember having ever tried any Milani products, but obviously I hear Youtubers and fellow Luuuxers talk about it all the time.
This display was picked away so there weren`t too many choices left. I was really looking to try one of the baked blushes since so many people rave about them, but I could only find 3 shades and they were all super shimmery - not something I like too much.
Are all Milani blushes that shimmery, or had people already taken the good stuff?
In the end, I decided to pick up a brow pencil, just because I wanted to try something out and it was one of the few items left that would work for me.
I got it in the shade Dark brown. I was afraid that it would be a little too `reddish-brown` for me based on the drawing they have in the bottom right corner, but I then realized that the Taupe shade had the exact same picture. It would be nice if they included a picture of what the actual colour would look like instead, but the only indicators for what colour the product is are the name and the tiny little band of colour on the actual pencil.
I have already used this a few times, and while I do like it, it doesn`t hold a candle to my all time favourite - the Smashbox Brows to Go.
The Smashbox product is almost like a powder that has been formed into a push-up pencil so it does a great job filling in the brows naturally. It also has a brow gel to help keep things in place.
The Milani is a very waxy pencil, so it skips the need for a gel, but at the same time, it ends up looking much harsher. The built in spoolie does help blend it out, but you still need to be careful or you end up looking like Groucho Marx!
I will continue using this, but I doubt I will ever re-purchase... my Brows to Go is still the reigning champ!
