Milani Bella Shadows Review + swatches

Hey Luuuxers,

I bought some of the Milani Bella eyeshadows this summer when I was in the US. All this time later, I`m finally getting around to reviewing them for you guys! LOL Talk about a delay! I wanted to make sure I had used these each at least once or twice before providing a review, and since they aren`t `everyday` colours, it took a while to get through them all! LOL

Milani isn`t readily available in Toronto, so when I was in Detroit for a weekend a few months ago, I took advantage.

Unfortunately, there weren`t too many shades available, but I was able to pick up some colours I liked. I ended up choosing Bella Emerald, Bella Charcoal, Bella Purple and Bella Navy all of which are great to create colourful smoky looks. (In fact, these colours remind me of some of the colours in the bottom row of my UD Smoked palette).

I`ve finally gotten a chance to use all these shades, so I can give you a quick review.

Let`s start with my favourite colour - Bella Navy.
I am absolutely in L-O-V-E with this colour. I don`t think it`s a true navy - I would say it`s closer to a deep royal blue. But it`s a great, buildable colour that blends like a dream.

My next favourite is Bella Purple. Again, it`s a great, vibrant yet wearable colour. This one isn`t deep as the blue but I enjoy it just the same.

My least favourite colours out of the 4 are the Emerald and the Charcoal. These ones are a a little more chalky than the other 2 so they don`t apply as nicely. They are a little more difficult to build up, but they are still decent. It takes a bit more effort but you can make them work. They are a little sheer at first, but you can layer them to create a more opaque finish.

I should note that I didn`t use a primer for any of my swatches, but all the colours still turned up great.

I may consider getting some more shades next time I`m south of the border! :)
