If you ever want to read a `feel-good` romance, grab a Nora Roberts. I have not had a single bad experience reading her books. Every one of them is just a good read. The part I like the most is that they aren`t complicated, I don`t have to really think about every chapter, I can almost lose myself in her books. Of course, though, you can`t love everything about every book, which is apparent with `Midnight Bayou.`
Declan is a wealthy lawyer who recently bought Manet Hall (of which he`s wanted since he broke into it during an intoxicated night) and now he plans on restoring it to what it once was. But Manet Hall has some odd things happening that has driven away all of its previous owners.
Angelina has been born and raised in New Orleans and has her own history with Manet Hall. Once Dec and Lena begin to fall in love with each other, the happening in Manet Hall increase. Now they have to find the truth and lay old ghosts to rest.
I really like books that incorporate a history and have a ghost. This book had a great development and the characters had depth but the ending seemed rushed. Obviously there had to be some sort of culmination with the ghosts and Dec but I just didn`t like how it was done. I don`t want to go into too much detail for those who want to read it. Honestly, I really like everything except for the last few chapters.
