This is what I call MexicaNAMESE Carne Asada Fries. The Mexican comes from you can buy this at a Mexican restaurant and the NAMESE comes from Vietnamese because the meat is marinated Asian/Vietnamese style.
Anyway, this is my boyfriend and I`s style of Carne Asada fries prepared at home. We baked potato french fries (the extra thin kind) in the toaster for about 12 minutes. The fries don`t get crunchy which is fine because we didn`t use oil and it takes more healthy but you can pan fry/deep fry with oil as you like. The meat used is a sirloin steak, chopped cubes -- cooked half way then cooks in the oven. The meat was marinated with a bunch of Asian sauces/herbs. Then, we bought a 6 layer dip for the fries. The dip has re fried beans, guacamole, sour cream, garden salsa, creamy salsa, and shredded cheese. This cost $3.29 which isn`t bad, perfect for taco salads especially!
Overall: Our lunch was great, the kids (his niece/nephew) loved it! Even my boyfriend`s mom enjoyed it and she hardly eats Mexican food. =)
