If you`ve read my blog you know I go by messy closet (http://messycloset05.tumblr.com) because...well...I do have a messy closet. Shopping is my job. So my closet is always a mess!
I decided instead of selling my clothes at consignment shops or giving them away I`d try Poshmark. It`s an app on the iPhone that allows women to post up pieces they no longer want and price them the way they want them priced. The selling fee is 20% of whatever the piece sells for. Which is actually really good considering consignment shops only give you 30-40% of what their pricing the piece for. And you have no say how much the pieces are going to re-sell for. It is somewhat of a pain though. Since I just started yesterday obviously I haven`t sold anything yet. It`s not instant money like consignment stores. I need to figure out how to get a following so the stuff starts selling. If not I might have to sell them at a consignment store again and get $150 for 55 pieces of all designer and name brand pieces. Many that have only been worn once...or never worn at all. A lot of my pieces still have the tags attached.
We`ll see how this all plays out. If you have an iPhone download Poshmark. It`s free. You can either sell or buy items...or both.
Womens pieces only, iPhone users only for the time being, and must live in the U.S.
