Some of you may know I ran the 5 Peaks 10k Enduro Race on the weekend at Canada Olympic Park over the weekend. I will go into the details of the race and how I feel at the end of the week as the recovery is coming along still and also how poorly certain portions of the race were done which is why if you look at the results I am not there, but have a race bib and other things to prove I did do it lol. So stupid, but partially my fault and you`ll see why lol.
I had bought the Merrell Siren Sport shoes because they were multi sport shoes and I needed shoes with more traction than a running shoe on this course because of the mixture of terrains and trails. The shoes were really comfortable and my feet were cushioned by the Vibram technology in the shoes and were never sore during or after the race. However going down hill caused my big toes to rub inside of the shoe which was quite painful and probably my fault for not wearing appropriate running socks as it felt at one time my big toe nail was going to dig into my skin or rip off on my left foot which was so uncool. I may do another trail run in a few weeks as there is one in my city and will test it out with better socks. At no point did the shoes ever dig into the back of my heel or onto my feet and I am sure some of you are familiar with sport shoes that do that and scrape you in a horrible way. Overall these are great shoes. I can picture myself wearing them for hours even just hiking and not having a problem.
Do you have multi sport shoes?
Do you own any shoes with Vibram technology or have ever wanted those five finger shoes?
Pictures are mine and you do not have permission to use them.
