Depending on which McCafe you go to around the world, you might be served an array of desserts.
This was from the McCafe in Hong Kong. They served different varieties of mini mousse cakes. Depending on the season, they have different flavors as well. All year round, they have green tea and strawberry. During summers, they had mango and chocolate. During winter, they had white chocolate.
Each cake was about 180 calories each, which is very reasonable for a piece of cake. They were also about $4 USD each, which I found to be pretty pricey.
But I decided to try it because you don`t get to see white chocolate cake often.
The cake surprises you. It looks like it`s a piece of pudding or the entire thing would be mousse. However, it is separated in 3 layers. The bottom layer was sponge cake. The middle layer was the white chocolate mousse and the top layer was also sponge cake. Then a thin layer of chocolate mousse surrounds it and then coconut shavings are added on top.
Personally, I don`t like too much "cake" in my cakes, I prefer more mousse. So I was a bit disappointed because it looked like the entire block would be mousse. But it was still good. It was not overly sweet and it was pretty light. Perfect with a cup of coffee.
