Like most people, black eye liner is a staple in my daily make up.
Its provides drama and definition, and can quickly turn a day time look into evening glamour.
Gel eyeliners are a relatively new product on the market, higher end brands like Clinique and Bobbi Brown stared the fad. Shortly followed by drugstore brands such as Maybelline.
They are now widely available, and there will a type to suit everyones wants and needs.
I picked up this Maybelline one about a month ago.
I`d seen many reviews on this product and gel liners in general, and I was really looking forward to using it.
It comes in a small glass jar, with silver lid. I think it looks very attractive and more expensive that in actually is. Also included is the brush, which itself is amazing and I would personally pay just for that!
The liner has a beautiful silky constancy, and really applies like a dream. It was soft, and so easy to apply with the brush.
When I did apply it to my eye I was a little disappointed with the over all finish, it wasn`t a true black but more of a greyish black. The pigmentation wasn`t amazing, but ever so slightly sheer.
Also disappointing was the longevity, as it promises..
`` Smudge and water resistant.
Up to 24 hours.
Our most intense line for lasting drama.
Safe for sensitive eyes and ophthalmologist-tested.``
It didn`t last at all, which is so disappointing as I had high expectations for this.
To make matters worse, the next day I woke up with totally swollen eye lids!!!
I took it straight back to Superdrug, where there were actually very kind and helpful.
So, well done Superdrug
I also contacted Maybelline, no word back from them at all so far.
Over all, I am very disappointed with the eyeliner and Maybellines costumer service
