I`ve heard a lot of good reviews on this eyeshadow so I decided to try it out for myself to see what the rave was about.
I was actually very disappointed =(.
Because my eyes and skin color are lighter than the average East Asian`s, I can pull off a lot of eye makeup looks that most East Asian women cannot. I was told that green would look amazing on my eyes, so I decided to try it out with the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow in Mad for Mauve.
As you can see, there are 4 colors, a beige base, with a light coral highlighter, an evergreen shimmer eyeshadow and finally, a chestnut eyeshadow.
Overall, I was impressed with the silkiness of the eyeshadow when it glided over my skin. Even on the brush, it felt like I was doing nothing at all. Other drugstore eyeshadows tend to scratch and tug but this one doesn`t. Hence it lives up to its name of being "silky".
The big dealbreaker for me was the color. It lacked richness! The green turned out to be a deep brown color and the colors did not "shine" or stand out like they did in the palette.
Also, it was prone to fading away. After an hour, the colors faded completely! If you swipe it with your finger, the eyeshadow comes right off! That was the huge no-no for me. I don`t need an eyeshadow that comes right off.
Overall, there are much better eyeshadows than this one.
Hope that helps.
