I just started using this notoriously difficult software called Maya autodesk 2012. Its awesomeness far out-weighs the difficulty. Once you have figured out how to maneuver through the software and alighn things up just the way you like them, you can really create some incredible images and animation movies.
Maya is by no means a cheap piece of software, but however you go about getting it, its worth it.
Alot of people start learning Maya in college, through some sort of Arts program, but I have descovered this program while studying computer science and it is something I think im going to like. Much like learning a foreign language, I can see this is going to take a great deal of time and effort on my part.
Oddly, I was first introduced to Maya at the age of about 14 ( I randomly bought a book that looked cool), then I just gave it up for something quicker and more interesting. Now that im an adult i`ve been kicking myself for not sticking with it and ironing out the kinks.
Maya also offers a full range of animation tools to get this very realistic motion that is very useful in my work.
They also have this other cool thing called the "HumanIK" that helps you build human figures quickly and move straight to the animation side.
All-in-all it is a great product, just time consuming and a bit torturous to learn.
Would you take the time to learn Maya?
Have you previously had experience using the Maya software?
