Hello lovely Luuuxers!
It`s been about two months since I took the most amazing vacation of my life to Hawaii, and I still dream about going back every day! So I thought I would continue sharing some of the gorgeous pictures I was able to take on my many adventures on the island of Maui!
The "Road to Hana" can be considered like a miniature road trip. You hop in the car in the small town of Paia, and you drive for about forty miles through some of the most beautiful, lush green scenery and breathtaking ocean views. The road is probably the most windy one I`ve ever been on...I felt like the entire thing was hairpin turns! My boyfriend got pretty carsick, but I thought it was kind of fun!
Along the road there are many places to stop and get out of the car, including hiking trails and parks, natural water springs, small banana bread stands, and as you can see in the picture, WATERFALLS! Unfortunately, it was raining pretty hard on the day that we did the Road to Hana, so we didn`t get out and do any hiking or exploring, but the extra rainfall meant that the waterfalls were in full force! Isn`t that picture spectacular? I had never seen anything so picturesque in nature before, and seeing this waterfall is something I will never forget!
Of course, once we finally arrived in Hana, we were so eager to get out of the car and eat! We ate a cute little restaurant, and I can see why people find Hana to be so charming. It is small and tucked-away and seems to have not been too affected by tourism, which was refreshing.
And then, we piled in the car and drove all the way back to Lahaina! What an adventure it was! If you ever find yourself in Hawai`i, be sure to rent a car and do the Road to Hana! It is a wonderful way to see the breathtaking scenery of the island.
Have you ever done the Road to Hana? Do you enjoy road trips?
