I love matte colors and have wanted to try the Nars Velvet Crayon but the price tag attached to it was more then I could spend right now, while shopping at Target I found Sonia Kashuck has a Velvety Matte lip Crayon for $7.59 it was a sign from above that I have found what I was looking for.
I purchsed Berry Nude, it`s a nice berry/pink color the texture is very creamy and takes a light hand to apply. First application you get a nice wash of color it makes your lips look like they have a hint of color the second application gives you a nice natural color I let it sit for a minute and then it sets in place. My lips looked like they were fuller which is something that I actually loved, the smell is not something I care for and it`s hard to describe it`s strong when you first apply and then as it dries the smell fades.
It`s a little drying but not so much that you feel like your lips are tight. I tried it with a little gloss I didn`t like it that way because I felt it took away from the amount of time the crayon lasted on my lips and I wanted a matte finish so the gloss defeated the purpose.
Some crayons you twist the bottom to get more product this is not one of them you have to sharpen it, so if you don`t have a sharpener with a jumbo hole then you will need to invest in one. This crayon is very fragile I dropped mine and the tip came off so I had to sharpen it so I lost a bit of product.
Overall I will purchase this again, I think it will be perfect for the Spring and Summer months I don`t like to wear sticky glosses or lipstick when it`s warm so this works also, the price point is something I love, the colors range from nude to wine/berry 6 colors in all you are sure to fine something that is flattering especially since you determine how light or heavy of a look you want so it`s versatile. The colors are great for a day at the office and you can add a colorstay lip liner to give you a bold evening look, and they are so easy to carry around.
