Matte Black French Mani
I recently posted about a haul from Toronto Barber and beauty Supply where I picked up a satin finish black polish from OPI.
I had an event this past weekend, I decided to try out the manicure I had planned. Since my dress was multicolored, it was easier to wear a black nail polish as opposed to trying to find a colour that worked with all of them.
Basically, I wanted to do a matte black nail but all a shiny French tip. It was actually really easy to do!
I applied 2 coats of the matte polish and let them dry. I also added a matte top coat just to help the polish last a bit longer. Once dry, I took a regular shiny top coat and freehanded a french tip. I could have used tape but since it was a subtle effect, I figured I could get away with free handing it. Plus I was concerned that the polish wasn`t completely dry, and using tape or a guide would smudge the polish below.
Overall, I`m really happy with how it turned out, and I got quite a number of compliments as well! :)
