I was in the mall in Atlanta and saw small corner with lush products selling in a corner of Macy`s and I ran there to have a look. I heard good things on youtube and there isn`t one in my city so I just wanted to have a looksy. Anyhow, because of the change in location I was having acne problem so I went and asked the lady for any recommendation. She was kind enough to give me a tub of mask for a trial (about 6 oz., I can`t remember it correctly)
Here is the description on the lush website....Mask of Magnaminty isnt technically a daily facial wash; its actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ultimate face mask, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition.
Ingredients in it: Bentonite Gel , Kaolin , Honey (Mel) , Talc , Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus) , Glycerine , Evening Primrose Seeds (Oenothera biennis) , Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita) , African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) , Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia) , Perfume , Chlorophyll , Methylparaben
My view of it
Okay it did take me by surprise to see the masks were in container on ice like ice cream. Anyways there were few other kinds that goes with different skin requirement. This one was given to me as my skin is dry and I was suffering with acne. The color of it is between cucumber and kale and there are tiny beads. I was asked to keep it in refrigerator and use it within 3 weeks due to active enzymes. I used it every other day or after 2 days for 3 weeks. You wet your face and then apply it avoiding eyes and mouth area and wait for 15-20 minutes, and then with wet fingers gently scrub away.
What I liked was that because it was in fridge, it had a cooling effect. The smell was okay for me....it had a clean smelling, nothing pretty nor horrible (although the color was off putting initially). I liked that it was a 2 in 1 product. After using it as mask you can exfoliate it but be sure to have wet fingers. There were a lot of beads so you can feel yourself having a good scrub without putting pressure on your skin. Right after I used it I was very pleased because my skin look clear and my acne wasn`t as red as prior the treatment. The acne also started healing after the first time (maybe it was my mind playing tricks or they just needed a push), and after doing it couple of times, I did not get any new pimple.
Cons would be that it is about 6 bucks for a small tub and you have to use it in within 3 weeks to get the benefit. On the website I read that 11.1 oz runs for $22.95 and they don`t have a mention of the smaller portion. Also the one they sell online do not need any refrigeration.
Some skins might feel moisturized after the mask but be sure to apply moisturizer to prevent drying and to lock in the moisture. I really wish I had one chain closer to me. I really liked this product and I would re-purchase it again. Oh and I am not sure if its the case with big jars too but if you have 6-7 of the smaller pots, you can take it to them and they will give u one refill free. I am not sure if its the case every lush store but that is one reason I would collect the pots :)
