I always thought Markus was born in the US and slowly took over the world with his music, but this short bio about him was pretty interesting. Hope you enjoy!
Markus Schulz has been a staple in the international dance music scene for many, many years. His hybrid style of mixing progressive house and trance together flawlessly for crowds across the globe have led him onto the DJ Mag Top 100 charts for well over the past five years and he has maintained his ranking in the Top 10 since 2008, holding a steady place at either #8 and #9 all of those years.
Born in Germany, Markus immigrated to the United States at age 13, where he quickly became involved in dance music during the countrys then-exploding break dance scene.
Throughout the 1990`s, Markus focused a lot on music production where he began to pull in early acclaim with a range of releases on numerous US labels. He also kept himself quite busy doing remixes for a wide variety of pop icons such as RuPaul, Bette Midler, Sandra Bernhard, Madonna, and Fatboy Slim.
Markus continued to work diligently at perfecting his mixing and production abilities and in 2004 Markus finally began to put everything in motion, which has allowed him to achieve major success that has since propelled him to the top of the Trance music scene.
Through his connection with Armin van Buuren, Markus was signed onto his Armada Records label and was quickly then able to establish his own label, Coldharbour Recordings, which now has over 100 releases under its belt. He started his weekly radio show "The Global DJ Broadcast," which now has over 10 million weekly listeners and he began touring internationally at all of the major clubs and events alongside Armin and his other fellow label mates.
Markus`s career has been a long and extensive one and he truly is a great musical talent. It took a lot of hard work and determination for him to get where he is today and he surely deserves to be considered on the top ten DJs in the world.
