Yum, I haven`t had mango tapioca in so long =)
It was part of the dessert menu from the Japanese restaurant, which surprised me, because its mostly served at dim sum places or Hong Kong cafes.
It was pretty good though, albeit a bit too sweet for my liking.
Mango tapioca is like a sweet dessert soup, which is very popular in Asia, especially China. The mango soup was flavored with mango juice, orange juice and some evaporated milk to give it more thickness. I think they added too much mango juice to the mix or added honey because it was very sweet!
The tapioca is not the ones you find at bubble tea places. Instead, they`re very tiny, about 1/5 of the size of a tapioca bubble and they`re clear, made from starch. They have no flavor in them and they act just to give more texture to the mango soup.
It was a nice dessert overall =)
Have you guys tried this?
