The other night my friends and I went to a local dessert house that served Hong Kong style desserts. The place is called Creations Dessert House and is located in the Richmond District of San Francisco.
Their most famous item that my friend orders every time is the Mango Mochi. It`s kind of like the mochi ice creams you see in super markets but instead of ice cream in the middle, it`s a mango chunk. The actual mochi part is covered with a coating of coconut shavings.
I have always wondered how they get the mango in the middle, but I mean, it`s probably really simple. This dessert is one of those things that you have to try if you like mango, and if you`re okay with mango, it`s one of those things that you have to try at least once in your life. Because there are plenty of mochi`s that are filled with say, sesame paste or red bean paste, but how many have you eaten that has a mango chunk in the middle?
Have any of you guys tried this before? And do you guys like mochi?
