BAYERN MUNICH COASTS TO WIN Mario Gomez marked his return from injury by scoring seconds into his Bundesliga season debut to wrap up a 5-0 win for Bayern Munich over Hannover in Germany.
Gomez scored from a tight angle in the 67th minute, 27 seconds after entering for only his second appearance since ankle surgery in August.
Javi Martínez opened the scoring with his first Bayern goal in the fourth minute, and Toni Kroos added another 20 minutes later, as did Franck Ribéry in the 37th, before Dante also scored his first Bayern goal, in the 63rd minute.
Bayern Munich is 9 points ahead of defending champion Borussia Dortmund, which came from behind to win by 2-1 at Mainz.
Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt are tied for third place, but slipped behind Dortmund after drawing, 1-1.
