I thought it would be a fun idea to show you guys my recent make up purchases of late! I haven`t done a haul in a few months as I mostly tend to buy 1 or 2 products at a time and then just do seperate reviews on them.
I wouldn`t class myself as a MAC-aholic but just the other day I noticed that the majority of make up products resting atop my vanity, which are the ones I use daily, were MAC. Shocked isn`t quite the right word to describe my expression, I was pretty much gobsmacked. That just goes to show that although pricey, MAC products never really fail to please!
MAC STUDIO SCULPT CONCEALER NC30
A full review on this lovely jubbly product will be coming soon but for now: BEST under eye concealer without a doubt! (And I know that sounds weird considering it`s a gel and a little bit creamy-ish but you`ll soon find out why it works.)
KATY PERRY SWEETIE PIE LASHES BY EYLURE
I`m definitely loving the flirty lashes designed by Katy Perry for Eylure. Although I would love to purchase them all, because they`re ALL very pretty, I decided to pick out the most natural looking ones which are the Sweetie Pie lashes. I`ve already worn them out twice and they seem to provide the perfect volume and length without looking dramatic and staying daytime appropriate so these without a doubt are one of my favourite make up items recently!
REAL TECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION
This little brush set, designed by YouTube beauty guru and make up artist Samantha Chapman, consists of a buffing brush, detailer brush, pointed foundation brush and a contour brush. I`ve only managed to use the buffing brush and the contour brush so far and I`m more than happy with those! If anybody is looking for the perfect tool to apply the new Dior Forever foundation, the buffing brush is what you`re looking for! It provides the best coverage available and blends your foundation in perfectly. The contour brush is the perfect size to get some good contouring done, it picks up and deposits just the right amount of bronzer and makes blending such an easy task!
The foundation brush is a little small for my liking so I might try and use it as a concealer brush, at least for the eyes anyway. And the detailer brush is probably best to use for lip products!
REVLON LIP BUTTER IN STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE
A little late to join in with this hype but I`m very pleased with the lip butters! They offer much more pigmentation than an ordinary tinted lip balm (lack of pigmentation is the main reason I stay away from them), it is practically like applying a gloss and a lipstick although it`s all in the one product! They provide great moisturisation also and although this shade here looks a softer pink, it can be built up easily to look brighter. I definitely picked out my perfect shade, I just can`t get enough of it!
TOPSHOP CREAM BLUSH IN PRIME TIME
This item was an impulse purchase. I seen it mentioned on The London Lipgloss and being a huge Topshop Cream Blush fanatic I couldn`t wait to get my hands on it! As with the rest of their cream blushes, it lasts very well on my skin, dries to a more powdery finish and is packed with pigmentation so the littlest amount will suffice to give you the perfect blush!
YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE IN LINGERIE PINK
As you can see, this lippie looks a lot different in the tube and swatched on the hand than it does on the lips. It is a very rich and creamy lipstick which is very heavily pigmented, swiping it on even once fully all over the lips is overkill. This can be deemed an advantage as it means less product will be used up! As obvious from the pictures, it is very drying which means that a lip balm underneath is necessary and with the addition of a lipgloss it would look even more perfect.
The first lip swatch is with a half swipe on the lower lip and the second lip swatch is with 3 half swipes on the lower lip. This Rouge Volupte needs to be layered on carefully, you can`t just apply a ton of it on at once and expect great results. I apply a half swipe on the lower lip and then spread it out with my fingers and blend it in and then repeat this process until I get my desired pigmentation.
So yes, it is a little high maintenance but so worth it!
My favourite combination with this lipstick is to pair it with Dior Lip Glow which is shown on my blog.
So that my lovelies is all the make up items I`ve collected over the past few weeks. I hope this was an entertaining read and not too boring. If you would like to see more posts like this then do tell me!
