I recently renewed my MAC Pro Membership back in February. This is my 3rd year being a member and I find it well worth it to me.
To get started let me tell you how it works. MAC offers a pro discount to industry professionals such as Makeup Artists, Cosmetologists, Entertainers, Costume Designers and Students. The discount does work in tiers. Makeup Artists get the highest discount at 40% Cosmetologists and Esthnaticians get 30% off the rest get 20% off. Their is a yearly membership fee of $35 so if you know you won`t be saving more than $35 I wouldn`t sign up. I purchase several hundreds of dollars in makeup yearly so it saves me way more than that $35 and is totally worth it to me. Some products are excluded from discount such as Viva Glam Products since proceeds go to the Aids Foundation. Collaboration Collections like Venomous Villains, Gareth Pugh, and others. For the most part it can be used on anything else single shadows, lip glasses you name it you can get it at a discount. You do have to provide proof to your profession such as license, union card, comp, card, tear sheet, business cards and theirs other proofs as well you can send. MAC does require you to mail you application instead of fax it to their NY Office. Another perk of being a pro is free shipping on orders over $150 5x a year and generally early access to new collections online.
