Thursday was the store release of the Hey Sailor collection at MAC. As I didn`t want to get the stuff online without first swatching everything, I just got what I wanted from the collection this thursday.
What I got:
All the Suntints - Abalone, Au Vie, Sea Mist.
Highlighter - Crew
Overall, aside from the suntints (which I absolutely love and am obsessed with), the overall collection didn`t have anything super special in my opinion. The blushes were pretty, but nothing extraordinary, eye pencils were pretty boring, lip pencils looked nice but nothing you couldn`t find in the permanent collection. The same applies for lipglosses and lipsticks. The coral shades in the lipstick and lipgloss were pretty, but not enough for me to want to get them. Nail polishes are not even worth mentioning...
And there are the body oils too. I was going to get one, but they are a little too oily and the MAC girl said they rub off anywhere you touch while wearing them. To me that is not nice, so I gave up on it.
Now for what I got. I have the 3 suntints from the Surf Baby collection from last year and absolutely love them (have a review on them here on Luuux), so the thing I knew for sure I would get from this collection were the suntints. I also got the highlighter in Crew because I thought it was unique enough. There are 3 colors on the highlighter, which I thought was cool (you can see from the swatch above). I wear this as blush, I think you have to be pretty tanned or with a darker skintone to wear this as a highlighter. But it makes for a gorgeous blush color. The best part for me is that you can actually choose if you want a peachier blush (swipe blush brush mainly on the peach tone side) or pinkier tone blush (swipe blush brush at the pink side). The lilac side is not big enough that you can have a substantially lilac blush color, but it`s very pretty anyways. I actually wore the lilac part on my eyes as an eyeshadow and it looked pretty.
So I must say I`m not super impressed with the collection, but I did love everything I got from it!
