Mac Deep Dark Brunette v. Dipdown v. Quite Natural

I decided to do another comparison of the new Mac brow gel creme only because the deep dark brunette shade is sold out and some people might be looking for an alternative within the Mac pots. here I have the gel creme, a fluid line in Dip Down and a paint pot in Quite Natural

the gel creme has 3g of product for $16, the fluid line has 3g of product for $15 and the paint pot has 5g and is $18.50. as you can see, both the brow creme and fluid line apply just about the same, whereas the paint pot is less pigmented.

I`ve tried Dipdown on my brows and I found that it was too harsh, even with a light hand. the color is much richer and darker than the gel creme, it`s good if you`ve got really dark brows I suppose but I never really use it for that. the gel creme goes on a little more sheer and softer so I find it easier to work from natural brows to super crazy sharpie like. I never thought about using a paint pot until I saw someone on a website mentioning it, I will say that I`ve done the smudge test and the paint pot was the first to go, I washed my hands with antibacterial soap and the paint pot is non existent, whereas the gel creme and the fluid line both help up equally as good.

so bottom line - if you`ve been using dipdown fluid line to do your brows and it works for you, keep going, don`t go crazy looking for the gel creme. if you are lucky enough to get your hands on the gel creme, get a back up, and if you are using the paint pot, try the gel creme. in the event that you can`t get ahold of the gel creme, check out my last post on the tarte brow mousse !
