this is a bit of a belated post about my first ever meal at claim jumper. i`ve had a bit of their food before because once my dad and his colleagues went there for lunch and he brought back some leftovers. i`ve never been for a meal before, but i went for the first time recently.
it was lunch time, so i decided to go for something on the lunch menu. the lunch portions should be smaller but boy, i was surprised with the amount of food i got! it easily filled me up until dinner time, no afternoon snack required!
i ordered the roasted tri-tip which is on the healthier side of the options there. the description on the menu: "Certified Angus Beef® slow roasted and sliced over herb demi-glace. Served Medium Rare to Medium only. Served with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables"
i asked for it medium because i like my meat fairly cooked through. the tri-tip was really tender and juicy, and the sauce was perfect, not at all overwhelming. the mashed potatoes were fairly average, and i was a little disappointed there wasn`t any option for gravy or something to complement the potatoes. i thought the veggies on the side were actually quite a standout. i didn`t care much for the carrots because they were a little rough and hard to chew, but the onions and zucchini were cooked PERFECTLY and had so much flavor! i can honestly say i finished my portion of the veggies (with the exception of the carrots).
i was really pleased with my first experience and i will definitely be back :)
have you ever been to claim jumper?
