So my friend and I recently made a trip to Denver, and we had lunch at this super cute place called Stuben`s. It`s a casual restaurant with a really cool retro vibe. (At least what I consider retro lol.) They have outdoor seating, but we chose to sit in a booth right by the door so it felt like we were outside but not really.
When I took a look at the menu, everything was super affordable, and sounded really yummy. But when my eyes landed on `Monte Cristo` I knew that`s what I had to order. I hadn`t had one in sooooo long. My hometown used to have a Bennigan`s but they closed down :( and I used to LOVE eating their signature Monte Cristo sandwiches. For those of you that don`t know, a Monte Cristo is a ham and cheese sandwich-deep fried and dusted with powdered sugar-and served with raspberry compote. Super healthy, right?! Lol
It came with a side order of fries and a pickle. How cute is the fry container?! And the cucumber was homemade, so that was a nice and unexpected twist. Needless to say, I was a super happy girl. I tried my hardest to eat it all, but it`s a very filling sandwich, so I took it home for a midnight snack later.
I can`t wait to visit Denver again, and hopefully pop back into Stuben`s. Any of you native Denver residents suggest any other local eateries that are worth checking out? Let me know! I love trying out new places :)
