It`s been ages since I`ve gone ice skating. But it`s definitely not from a lack of ice skating rinks in New York City. This week is the opening week for numerous skating rinks including the infamous The Rink at Rockefeller by my work.
A few other places for skating?
Wollman Rink is probably the other just as famous rink in New York. Featured in numerous movies, it`s located in Central Park.
Citi Pond at Bryant Park - I`ve never skated at this rink as I`m rarely in that area.
Lasker Rink located in Central Park as well but up in Harlem.
WWII Veterans War Memorial Ice Skating Rink is in the forgotten borough, Staten Island
Riverbank State Park which is also up in Harlem along Riverside Drive. This should be opening in a week or so.
The Standard Ice Rink located in Meatpacking District. I think this is the High Line one. This one opens in mid-November.
And finally Van Cortlandt Park Ice Skating Rink all the way up in the Bronx. This is not open until mid-November.
Talk the TALK
1) Do you like to Ice Skate?
2) Have you ever ice skated in New York City? Which rink?
