For my lunch today, my mom made one of my favorite dishes which are Vietnamese crepes. Theyre crepes in the sense that the batter is thin and flat-like but the taste itself is not like a pancake. I know some places that actually do use real pancake batter for this but it just doesnt taste right to me. Inside is a mix of shrimp, bean sprouts, green onions, mung beans (this is a Southern Vietnamese thing even though my moms from the north :p), and chicken. Ideally pork is the main meat but my mom didnt have any so she substituted it with chicken and it turned out great! I served it along with some fresh cute roman lettuce and homemade fish sauce.
Have you tried Vietnamese crepes before? If not, would you like to?
