I went to my local mall`s food court wanting to get my favourite Hainan chicken rice today for lunch. However, I encountered some horrible service that made me decide to eat something else instead. I saw some people carrying a tray with a teppayaki pan and some paper strip covering the side of the pan while trying to decide what to eat. The whole thing looked very different, so I decided to give it a try.
The place serves teppanyaki dishes. They have various combinations of salmon, steak and pork. I ordered the daily special, which was rib eye steak strips with rice mixed with corn and a special black pepper sauce. The meal was $7.50, including a Hong Kong style milktea.
I absolutely loved my lunch. Everything tasted fresh and sizzling hot. I usually don`t eat plain rice, but the special sauce they mixed the rice with made the rice taste amazing. Oh and the paper around the pan was to prevent hot oil and sauce from splattering. I`m really glad I decided to try something new today.
