This was my lunch from yesterday -- a half of a steak & cheese (provolone) with onion and banana peppers on homemade pita bread. My local pizzeria makes some of THE BEST pita bread, which they actually make out of bread dough that they toss in the oven and bake up and it gets all puffy and delicious. So it`s really like ... a sandwich stuffed in pizza crust that`s softer. The steak sandwich was very lean, no visible fat seen or tasted. I was splitting the sandwich so we got provolone on it -- which I probably wouldn`t do again. Since the meat is so lean and the provolone is a harder cheese when melted and eaten, it didn`t give it any wetness as mozzarella or even American would have. Other than the cheese factor, it as very good!
