LOTD - Asian Flared Steak Tips amp Salad

Today I opted for something a little different for lunch. Typically I wouldn`t cook something like this for lunch, but I wasn`t truly hungry when it was lunch time, so I decided to make steak tips and eat them when I was hungry -- which happened to be around 2pm.

I cut the big pieces of visible fat off my sirloin strips, then cut them into chunks. I took a large lasagna pan and chopped up an onion into chunks, put in frozen green and red peppers in the pan. I then added my chopped & cleaned steak and seasoned it with low sodium soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and some Korean BBQ sauce I had picked up recently. The Korean BBQ sauce is sweet but then the moment you swallow it BAM the spice tickles the back of your throat. So the teriyaki and soy sauce helped mellow the flavor and it came out really nicely. It was flavored well, with a little "what`s that?" (from the spice) thrown in there.

I had a salad that I had purchased at Papa Gino`s last night in the refrigerator because we did not eat it yesterday. I took some out for my BF and used the remainder for myself. I used the salad as my base and topped it with 3 ounces of cooked steak tips with peppers and onions on top of it. I drizzled some fat free Italian dressing over the greens and enjoyed it with 1/2 a piece of pita bread. So good!
