Pistachio Dream has a slight, green sheen to it, and it is difficult to photograph, but I tried my best in the close-up photo. It`s a really soft, minty green, similar to Essie "Mint Candy Apple" except with the green sheen. It`s very cool-toned, and it WILL bring out any redness you may have in your hands.
As for the formula, it`s pretty thick, and it goes on very streaky. This is the first time I have had a problem with one of the newer L`Oreal polishes, so I was pretty upset to see this happening. Because of its viscosity and propensity to streak, it`s very difficult and time intensive to use. That said, if you do have the time, the end result is very nice. I had to use three coats for full opacity and smoothness. I chose to let each coat completely dry between coats because of the streakiness and thickness of the polish.
I love the brush on these L`Oreal polishes (it`s slightly rounded on one edge) because it allows you to get around the bottom of the nail bed and the sides without painting your cuticles or on the sides of your fingers. It means less time cleaning up around the nail. I got about four days with three coats, Orly Bonder Basecoat, and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.
This is limited edition, and I discovered it was a bit tricky to find. I could not find it any drugstores around me, but I found that every Target I visited (in three cities) stocked the collection, but only one of the stores had this polish in stock. I snagged the last one. At Target it was 4.99 USD, but these polishes retail for up to 8.99 USD in drugstores like CVS and Walgreens.
I would only recommend purchasing this one if you are madly in love with the color, madly in love enough to overlook the flaws in the formula.
