Loreal Magic Lumi - Illuminating Primer

Please note that the first photo is not mine. As an Illuminator newbie seeking a dewy, fresh and healthy glow, I thought I would give this a try before splurging on one of the pricier name brands. So far, this product does not seem to do well for me. It comes out on the somewhat runny side and is sheer white, with no tint whatsoever. There is also a light fragrance to it, somewhat floral. As a highlighter/illuminator used alone (with no foundation or tinted moisturizer on top,) it seems to give a rather disco ball-esque gleam, and the only thing it seems to highlight is the texture of my skin (wrinkles included). When used under my Clinique tinted moisturizer (which I have reviewed as the subject of another diatribe in other news,) it just disappears, and doesn`t seem to have any time extending effect on my makeup. For the $13.99 I spent on the product, which I will not likely use again I would have done well to have put my money toward one of the more expensive name brands which I have heard do achieve their purpose quite attractively. I would be surprised if this gimmicky product is not discontinued within a year, and will be scrapping this for something else, perhaps with more of a tint and a little less sparkle and shine.
