Londons first ever Kids Fashion Week

The first ever Kids Fashion Week will launch this spring in Londons Freemasons Hall. The week will actually be a two day event feld from the 19th to the 20th of March 2013 and will showcase such designer kids fashion names as Little Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith Junior, Junior Gaultier, Chloe and I Pinco Pallino. It has only been a matter of time before kids have gotten their own fashion week, with stars like Romeo Beckham making it big with Burberrys range. In the UK alone this industry is worth £500 million as parents become more focused on the clothing their offspring are seen in. As well as the more established brands being showcased at the event, more emerging independent brands will get a chance to shine also meaning a great platform for them to branch out into the mainstream media. The event will feature runway shows and performances as well as a mix of playful activities for children and parents in collaboration with event partner the V&A Museum of Childhood. Global Kids Fashion Week or GKFW for short, aims to educate and inspire kids about fashion. It will celebrate how this specialist category has thrived and evolved over the past five years. Proceeds from ticket sales for the public show will be donated to charity Kids Company. I`m delighted to be involved in Global Kids Fashion Week. It`s a great initiative which celebrates designer children`s wear on a global platform, said Sarah Curran, Founder who is one of the ambassadors in the project.
