Have you ever ate L&L Hawaiian Barbecue? It`s a combination of Hawaiian, American and Asian culture foods. I am probably the last person to try L&L Hawaiian Barbecue but after seeing my little cousin post repetitive posts of their food on Instagram especially Chicken Katsu ~ I was determined to eat some L&L Hawaiian Barbecue for dinner tonight.
I yelped L&L Hawaiian Barbecue and read reviews about the Chicken Katsu being a large portion and even enough to eat and save for lunch which works great because my boyfriend and I could share!
What we ordered?
~ Chicken Katsu $7.49 for the regular size (they also have a smaller portion for $5.49 which is the mini)
What is Chicken Katsu? Crispy breaded chicken filet served with katsu dipping sauce, two scoops of rice and macaroni salad
~ Spam Musubi $1.99
What is Spam Musubi? Grilled Spam on top of a block of rice, wrapped together with dried seaweed
~ The portion is definitely very generous! My boyfriend and I were able to eat dinner (rice wasn`t enough for the both of us but we had rice at home) and we were able to save a good amount for my boyfriend`s lunch for work tomorrow. For $7.49 we`re getting 3 portions which is a great price but obviously you can`t eat this on the daily though)
~ The food was quite tasty, the chicken is really crispy on the outer and well cooked inside
~ The katsu dipping sauce is very unique, I didn`t quite like it at first but it grew on me afterwards
~ I am not a huge fan of Spam but reading reviews and rants about the Spam Musubi I had to try one especially for being $1.99 which is a little expensive because you could make it yourself for cheaper but it was a nice snack!
Overall: I do like L&L Hawaiian Barbecue so far, looking forward to trying other popular entrees like the chicken cutlet.
