I have been wanting a pedometer for a while and I am not willing to fork out a lot of money for one so I headed over to Sport Chek and picked up cheap Vivre pedometer which counts calories and distance. It was around $10 and I like knowing how many steps I walk in a day and the distance I cover when I run. I have learned that the pedometer is only accurate when you place it onto your hip as I used google map to calculate distance for a run I did one day and it was off by 1.2 km before I moved it on the way home. But gives me a good idea of steps I walk in a day which is roughly 6000 when i don`t run, mind you I have an office job and don`t move much lol. I also picked up a cheap glow in the dark jelly watch at the dollar store as I don`t like heavy bulky things when I run and one of my friends also runs with one of these cheap watches. I have had it for 2 months and I am surprised the battery is still going lol. I don`t run when it is dark but thought it was cool since it glowed :p. I am going to do a long run probably 14-18km tomorrow to prep myself for the half marathon so we`ll see how many steps that will be.
