The ancient town of Lijiang, in the northwest province of Yunnan, is one of the last surviving ones in China. The Old Town of Lijiang has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. This village displays a wealth of bridges and canals, against a backdrop of snow capped mountains. The Naxi people practice a lifestyle and culture that seemed to have disappeared with time, playing instruments on the streets that date centuries back.
