I was looking for a new flash drive for a while and with more storage than my (now old) 8gb drive. I was thinking of getting a 32gb but then i saw that there also better prices now for 3.0 drives that are much faster, especially if you have 3.0 usb ports.
This kingston one was 16, which is around 20 and its the Datatraveler Elite 3.0 with 16gb. Now for 1-2$ less i could have gotten the 32gb 2.0 one but after some time thinking i realized that i need speed more than i need storage because i wouldn`t fill a 32gb flash drive and so i went for the 3.0 with 16gb.
Now i don`t have 3.0 ports and you might think its stupid to get a flash drive 3.0 without those ports but its actually almost as fast in the regular ports because the cheap/regular 2.0 flash drives are limited and this is the speed comparison:
- 8gb 2.0 drive - 5mbs speed ; around 1m30s to transfer a 700mb file
-16gb 3.0 (new flash drive) - 24/25mbs ; around 30s to transfer the same file.
Now thats an improvement. It might be a bit more expensive than the other 2.0 drives but its worth it and consider the prices of the new 3.0 flash drives it was a very good deal.
What flash drive do you use/how many gb?
Do you have a 2.0 flash drive or a regular one?
