Last week at around 10 PM, I went to UCLA to pick up my sister. There was HORRIBLE traffic coming back which was kind of unexpected since it was so late at night. By the time we got back to the SGV, it was already 11:45PM. What would have normally been AT MOST a 30 min trip lasted an hour and a half. Since both of us hadn`t eaten, we decided to go grab some dinner. Luckily there are a bunch of HK cafes open till 3AM in the area so we weren`t stuck with McDonald`s or some other fast food.
We decided to go to Garden Cafe in Arcadia since it is right by where we live. The place was packed even though it was pretty late but we were seated relatively quickly. I ended up ordering the Indonesian Fried Rice since my sister said it was really good. It`s basically a spicy version of Yeung Chow fried rice topped with a fried egg, nothing too spectacular but it was pretty tasty. It`s been a while since I`ve had fried rice so it did hit the spot. It was very oily so I didn`t eat that much but I was still pretty full.
For the fried rice, soup, and a drink, my total came out to be a little less than $10 which isn`t bad since it was dinner prices and I got a lot of food. That`s why I love asian restaurants, you get a bunch of tasty food for very little money, or at least in the SGV since they`re all competing for your business. So what did you have for dinner today? Are you a fan of friend rice?
